Common questions
What happens to a transparent background?
JPG has no transparency, so it has to become something. This tool fills it with white, which is what you want for a logo going into a document. If you need the transparency kept, convert to WebP instead — it is smaller than PNG and keeps the alpha channel.
Will converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
Some, because JPG is lossy. On a photograph it is invisible at normal quality settings and the file is far smaller. On a screenshot with sharp text or flat colour, JPG smears edges — keep those as PNG, or use WebP.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
