Questions

Common questions

What is the difference between exposure and brightness?

Exposure multiplies the light the way a camera stop does, so highlights roll off and shadows hold. Brightness lifts the whole range evenly. Exposure usually looks more natural on a photo; brightness is blunter and useful on flat scans.

Does cropping or rotating reduce quality?

Cropping and quarter turns are exact — pixels are copied or moved, never resampled. Straightening by an arbitrary angle does resample, which softens the image very slightly.

Can I crop to an exact pixel size?

The selection shows its live pixel width and height as you drag, so you can size it precisely rather than by eye.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The work happens in your browser using image APIs it already ships with, so the file never leaves your device. There is no upload to wait for and nothing stored on a server afterwards.
