Reduce the file size of a photo without leaving the page. Works on JPEG, JPG, PNG and WebP — choose a quality level or give a target size in KB, compare the result against the original, and download it. Nothing is uploaded.

Common questions
Can I compress several images at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like — up to thirty at a time — and the settings you choose apply to all of them. Each is processed one after another so your device doesn't run out of memory, and you can save them individually or take the whole set as a zip.
How do I reduce an image's file size?
Add it to the tool above and either pick a quality level or give a target size in kilobytes. Quality is the simpler control; a target size is what you want when a form or upload limit names an exact number. Both work on JPEG, JPG, PNG and WebP.
What is the difference between a size reducer and a resizer?
A size reducer changes how many kilobytes the file takes up while the picture stays the same width and height. A resizer changes the width and height in pixels. People often use the words interchangeably — if a form asked for a number in KB, you want file size, which is what this tool does.
Does compressing an image reduce its quality?
JPG and WebP compression is lossy, so some detail is discarded — that is how the file gets smaller. At 80% quality the difference is usually invisible at normal viewing size while the file is often three to five times smaller. PNG is lossless and keeps every pixel, so it saves less.
How small can I make an image?
Very small, but there is a floor. Below roughly 10% quality a photo shows visible blocks and colour banding. If you need a much smaller file, reducing the pixel dimensions usually looks better than compressing harder.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no limit we impose, but processing happens in your device's memory, so very large files behave better on a laptop than on an older phone. Files above 50 MB are declined for that reason.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens in your browser using image APIs it already ships with, so the file never leaves your device. There is no upload to wait for and nothing stored on a server afterwards.
